The Cardinal Route Project is a proposed 20-mile on-road bicycle route that will provide an important east-west connection along the northern portion of Union County. This route (A) roughly aligns with Boundary Road, passing through Byhalia. The route connects with existing routes and trails in neighboring Logan and Marion Counties. Connection to Richwood is also planned via a southern segment (B).

Project Timeline

This project represents a multi-year, multi-phase effort. The completion of this project is highly dependent on many factors, including property and right-of-way acquisition, availability of funding, and overall community support.
